Then the next day we had to go to Idaho. Felipe had a physics conference in Pocatello and we had already planned to drive up separately as a family. So we went even though we were feeling pretty bad still. We drove in a big windy rain storm.Felipe was at the conference on Friday and all day Saturday I just couldn't sit in a hotel with 4 kids all day so we decided to get out for awhile even though we were sick and even though it was very cold.
First we went to the Pocatello Zoo. We were the only people there besides the zoo employees. It was a nice little zoo but it is kind of funny that all of the animals there are native to Idaho. I think that some people put up fences and ended up fencing in some animals and then decided to make a zoo out of it. It was so cold though and we couldn't feel our hands. They had a big play place with a big tree house and a slide. The kids wanted to go explore it so I let them. Below you can see the picture of the big slide. Well the Goo was going to be the first one down it. As he was sliding down both he and and I screamed at the same time because in the midst of his sliding we both noticed that at the end on the slide was a huge puddle of dirty green water. Neither of us could stop him in time and he slid right into it and got soaked. So we left and we got him changed into dry clothes in the car.
Well, since we have been home Samantha's fever has gone back up and Cassandra and I have been coughing. I don't think our little train ride and trip helped us much to get better. We had fun though. I have been to Idaho several times and Felipe has been there once before but the kids were very excited to see Idaho for the first time. They love visiting new states and taking little trips.
